Coach Vogt is a proud husband and father to two beautiful children. Coach Vogt specializes in the Hybrid Wing-T and Wide Zone on offense and the Multiple 3-4 on the defensive side of the ball. Prior to coaching Coach Vogt played football in high school, and through 4 years of playing defensive line at the University of Dubuque, graduating with degree in Health Science in 2007.
Through his coaching experience, he has been a part of 3 state championship coaching staffs before transitioning to the offensive side of the ball for a Coordinator position. Over the past 11 years coaching, his teams have appeared in the state playoffs 10 times. He has also been a teacher since 2007 in the following subjects: biology, anatomy & physiology, PE, ESE, economics, world history and game design. For the past 4 years, he has been a strength and conditioning coach specializing in hinge strength and overhead strength development.
Coach Vogt’s offense is a run based offense with heavy influences from Alex Gibbs, Milt Tenopir, Tubby Raymond and Bobby Bowden. He believes the blue collar style of play makes for tough players that in turn become tough young men that will be successful in their future endeavors. “Competitive toughness is an acquired skill and not an inherited gift. ” – Chris Evert.
